There’s a good reason why the CMID blog has been dormant of late.  We have been busy focusing our efforts on developing a newly crafted blog, with a re-launch planned for the end of February.

Remaining true to your essential style while constantly keeping your work fresh are key elements that work in tandem to deliver effective and successful interior design.  The new CMID blog aims to reflect this thinking.

In the interim, and to possibly to keep your whistle whet, here's a retrospective of the CMID blog’s most popular postings.  If you are a regular reader, it might not escape your attention that Charlotte admires Scandinavian style and this is reflected in the popularity of related posts.  She is drawn to its modernity, natural functionality, and often-unobstructed simplicity of interiors and exteriors.

Halcyon House

Halcyon House, Cabarita Beach, Northern New South Wales, Australia

The CMID office has been busy over these last few weeks hence the blog has been quiet on postings. So here is a summery and colourful one to finish off the week.
While researching for inspiration, I came across this new hotel on the shores of New South Wales, Australia. It's called Halcyon House and this place has really got me into a summery mood.
This original 1960's beach motel has been restored into a luxurious one-of-a-kind boutique hotel. The owners, sisters, Siobhan and Elisha Bickle worked with interior designer, Anna Spiro of Black and Spiro to create this unique hotel that feels like a stylish home away from home. Each bedroom is individual with unique one off lights, antiques, upholstered walls and bed heads. If you love blue and white, this is the place for you.

HAY and Comwell Hotel

Here is an extraordinary design collaboration that was brought to my attention recently - in this case, it's between a hotel and a furniture brand.
Welcome to Comwell Aarhus, a hotel in Denmark whose interiors were fully designed by the internationally renowned furniture and interior manufacturer, HAY. This successful Danish design house had their hand in creating everything from the carpet and wallpaper right through to furnishing all the rooms with their well known furniture and accessories to make the Comwell Aarhus truly unique - a classic Danish design with a modern twist. I wonder if visitors who stay here try to steal anything...how tempting!
